Mobile Baby!!

Jaxon is crawling!!! He had been getting up on his knees and rocking around for awhile and this week he suddenly decided to take off. He will do this weird thing where he half bear crawls sometimes though.

H still has to concentrate pretty hard on what he's doing.

But he loves this new found freedom. Once he gets going he will giggle the entire way across the room. It is so cute!
Crawling is a bittersweet milestone. I'm happy because Jaxon is happier. He does a lot more self-entertaining and is less needy. He likes being able to get to things he is curious about. On the other hand, it means I need to have less around for him to be curious about! The floor has to constantly be vaccumed and the kitchen needs to be constantly swept. And I have to really hound on the girls to keep their toys in their room with all of the little tiny chokable pieces they have. But it's all good. He's so proud of himself, and we're so proud of him!!!!

Family Pictures Continued...

We took a few pictures of Jake alone with the kids and I totally love them. So here are my two men in their formal attire:

We could not get Jaxon to smile at all, so Jake decided to pout with him. Totally funny.
I thought this picture really captures the relationship Jake has with the girls. Everytime they are with him they are just laughing and smiling continually. I like this picture a lot.

Family Pictures

One of my goals while Jake was here was to get some family pictures taken. Of course we kept putting it off continually until the day Jake was leaving we realized we hadn't really taken any nice pictures as a whole family. So we got all dressed up and Mike (my sister's boyfriend) took our pictures really quick by a little grove of trees in the neighborhood. After about 20 minutes we had to run home and switch clothes so we could drive to the airport. I still think the pictures turned out pretty good, even though they were rushed. This one is my favorite:
We took several sitting together as a family in various ways, but none of them turned out real well except this one. I still like the other one better, and of course that was the one that was taken on a whim and it turned out really cute.
Here's one of Jake and I. I think it looks pretty good. Adult only pictures are so much easier.

Mckayla's mind reading powers

Anyone who knows us, knows that my girls love to draw. They can go through reams of paper in no time. They also love to draw all over the back porch. Mckayla dragged me outside today to show me her murel. She said I was happy because I was "thinking about Daddy in the clouds." Notice the little thought bubbles like they have in cartoons. That is Jake in the last thought bubble. There's no hiding my feelings from my kids. They know. It's just funny how intuitive they can be when you think they aren't paying attention. Just thought I'd share.

Check out th' Fish I Done here Caught

Perty Cool, huh? (It's a sculpture at an artsy park in Waco).

Jake's visit

Well, I do have a habit of blogging in spurts, so I should talk about the main event for this month. JAKE WAS HOME!!!! Jake spent 2 weeks with us in the middle of April. We had a lot of fun just being together again, and I of course put him to work. We re-did our whole backyard with sod so that it will be pretty when we sell it. We spent a weekend in San Antonio, and other than that, we just hung out together. It was great to have him home and to feel like a family again. Only 2 more months till he is home for good!!!!! YAY! Then we move! I have a lot of work to do between now and then.

This is a picture of us eating at the Tower of the Americas in San Antonio. The whole restaurant slowly revolves around the tower while you eat, and you have sea legs when you get to the bottom, but it was really cool.
This is the girls and I on a log ride at Sea World.
This is us at the Shamu show. The girls LOVED Shamu. Every fish was named Shamu, except that all fish were also dolphins... including Shamu. If that made sense to you then you have 4 year olds. We sat in the splash zone because we got there right before it started. We had a great view, we could almost reach out and touch Shamu, but we were completely SOAKED at the end of the show, and I mean SOAKED.
This is the girls on a pony ride at a festival they had at my school. We had a great time with Jake, I got really behind on my homework and spent the next weekend sleepless with the help of caffiene. But it's over now. I can't wait to have him home for good. The girls especially miss him so much. The day after he left they were so hard to deal with. I don't think they realize why they are so upset, but they just were acting out in everyway. JUST 2 MORE MONTHS!

I'm done....for now.

So I took my last final today. I think that it went really well. It is a load off of my chest to be able to be done with this semester. Only now that means I have no excuse to not be working on my house. I want our house to be up and onthe market asap, so I need to get cracking on packing things up and getting our house clean and organized. It is going to be a lot of work, and I'm not sure where I want to start. We'll see how this turns out.
