Catch up.. part one

Part of the reason I haven't posted was because my husband got to come home for almost a full month! We elected just to stay home and enjoy each other rather than visiting family. I put him to work on several different projects around the house, and the last week we had a nice visit first with his dad and family, and then with my sister Katie and her family. It was so nice to have my husband home for such a long time, and it is nice that I know we are half way through with this deployment now. We still have a long six months to go, but hopefully time will fly a little faster now that we are rollin downhill. Jake was able to give our son a name and a blessing the last Sunday he was here while the Thompsons were here. These are some pictures of the event:

Isn't my hubby hot!? And what a cute baby!

Excuses at bedtime

The girls have been having a particularly hard time going to sleep lately. They also have a hard time staying asleep which makes for long interrupted nights for us. Most of the time they like to have the light on until they fall asleep, but since Jake left they aren't falling asleep as quickly and end up just playing in their room. So, I give them a few minutes and if they are playing I turn the light off. Though this usually prompts massive fits, Lyla has been crying that she is scared of the dark. I feel like it is just another excuse to get out of bed or to get her way, but she also could be genuinely scared. I am not sure how to address it, but I don't want the "I'm scared" excuse to be abused as another ploy to get her way.

Still getting the hang of this

Well, knowing that I have never been able to keep a regular journal...ever, why did I possibly think that I would be able to keep a regular blog? I don't have any clue. Maybe sometime I will be able to get the hang of this and keep up a regular blog. We shall see, only time will tell.
